Brief history

1996     Government Implementing Agency, Petroleum Authority of Mongolia was established

1997     First mining law was ratified by the Parliament /State Khural/ and Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia was established.

2000     The Petroleum Authority of Mongolia became under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Trade and Industry.

2004     The Government Implementing Agencies Mineral Resources Authority and Petroleum Authority were combined into one authority and established the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia.

2009     The Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia were divided as two separate implementing agencies by the Parliament resolution No#43.

2016   The Government Implementing Agencies Mineral Resources Authority and Petroleum Authority were combined into one authority and become the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry
